(SportsNetwork.com) - After leaving some points on the table during a recent homestand, the Minnesota Wild will try to tighten their grip on a playoff spot during a three-game road trip. A stop in Boston could be a good place to start. The Wild look to avoid their first ever setback at TD Garden as they visit the Atlantic Division-leading Bruins on Monday night. You can watch the game live on TSN2 at 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt. Minnesota will try to keep this a 60-minute contest as it lost three shootouts during a 1-0-3 homestand. Still, with 80 points the Wild own a five-point edge for a wild card position in the Western Conference. Saturdays 2-1 shootout setback to the Columbus Blue Jackets closed out Minnesotas residency. Jason Pominville scored in the third period for the Wild and Darcy Kuemper made 28 saves through overtime. Minnesota then grabbed a 2-0 lead in the shootout on goals by Zach Parise and Mikko Koivu, but Artem Anisimov and Mark Letestu countered for Columbus. Matt Moulson then had his fourth-round chance stopped and Kuemper was beaten by Ryan Johansen. Kuemper tried to disrupt the attempt with a poke check, but Johansen pulled the puck to the backhand and sent it into the net. The goal was upheld after it was ruled that Kuemper did not get his stick on the puck. That left the Wild with five of a possible eight points on its homestand, but Moulson said, "down the stretch every point is important." The Wild will visit the New York Islanders on Monday night, so both Kuemper and Ilya Bryzgalov could see action over the next two days. Kuemper has gone 12-4-4 with a 2.19 goals against average in 22 games (21 starts) this season and has never faced Boston, while Ilya Bryzgalov is 6-3-3 with a 2.49 GAA versus the Bruins. Bryzgalov has made just one start with the Wild since being acquired from the Edmonton Oilers. Minnesota has had no trouble picking up points versus Boston. The Wild lead the all-time series 10-1-1, having won the past two meetings, and have never lost in six trips to TD Garden. They have outscored the Bruins 19-6 in those games. The Wild host the Bruins on April 8 to wrap the season series. Boston will also play games on back-to-back nights as it will visit the New Jersey Devils after concluding a three-game residency on Monday. The Bruins come into this matchup having won eight in a row to post their longest winning streak since a 10-game span from Nov. 1-23, 2011. The Bruins picked up a 5-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday. Jarome Iginla scored twice and Milan Lucic had a goal and two assists. Both players are on four-game point streaks, with Iginla having totaled four goals and an assist and Lucic notching two tallies and four helpers. Chris Kelly and Torey Krug also scored, while David Krejci picked up three assists in the victory as Boston improved to 11-1-2 in its past 14 games and leads the Montreal Canadiens by 14 points for first place in the division. "It just seems like everything is clicking for us right now," said Lucic. Chad Johnson got the start in the Boston and made 29 saves, improving the backup to 8-0-0 with a 1.40 GAA at home this season. It wouldnt be shocking to see Johnson face the Wild for the first time in his career tonight given tomorrows road game and his success at home. No. 1 Tuukka Rask is 1-1-0 with a 1.45 GAA in two previous meetings with Minnesota and has made a career-high 49 starts this season. Vapormax 2019 Soldes .ca. A little more than one year after missing a last-second tip-in that would have given the Wolverines a share of the Big Ten regular-season title, the 6-foot-8 forward scored on a layup with 7.ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Jim Schwartz doesnt expect continuity to be an issue in his new job with the Buffalo Bills. Despite taking over as the teams fourth defensive co-ordinator in four years, Schwartz stressed he has no intention of making drastic changes to his predecessors aggressive approach that made the Bills one of the NFLs most feared pass-rushing teams last season. "Were an attack scheme. Its a scheme built on the guys up front getting after the quarterback," Schwartz said during his introductory news conference on Monday. "Well be fast. Well be physical. We want to attack. ... Theres going to be a lot of defensive lineman that are real happy to play in a system like that." That should make Mario Williams, one of Buffalos three returning Pro Bowl defensive linemen, breathe a little easier. Schwartz is happy, too. A month after being fired as the Detroit Lions head coach, Schwartzs decision to bide his time before making his next move paid off in landing a job he considers to be an ideal fit. "You want to be very careful about your next opportunity, and I didnt step into this lightly," he said. "Theres a tremendous opportunity with the players that are in place." Schwartz replaces Mike Pettine, who left Buffalo after only one season to take over as the Cleveland Browns head coach. Pettines departure last week was unexpected and had the potential of undercutting whatever carry-over the Bills were seeking to build on following a 6-10 finish. Though the Bills struggled against the run, their defence finished 10th in the NFL in yards allowed — Buffalos best ranking since a second-place finish in 2004. And Buffalo finished second in the league with a franchise-record 57 sacks. Once Pettine indicated he was accepting the Browns position, Bills coach Doug Marrone wasted little time targeting Schwartz. At the same time Pettine completing his deal in Cleveland on Thursday, Marrone and members of the Bills front office travellled to interview Schwartz for the job before reaching a deal a day later.dddddddddddd "When youre looking to hire defensive co-ordinators, you want to look at people that you dont like going against their defence," Marrone said. "Jims defences have always been very tough, very difficult to run on, very difficult to score on." Schwartz has 20 years of coaching experience including an eight-year stint as the Tennessee Titans defensive co-ordinator from 2001-08. The Titans defence three times finished among the NFLs top 10 in fewest yards allowed. Tennessee was particularly stingy in stopping the run, finishing sixth or better in yards rushing allowed, including a first-place ranking in 2003. Schwartz was inconsistent during five seasons in Detroit. He went 29-51, including a 10-6 finish in 2011 in which the Lions snapped a 12-year playoff drought. In Buffalo, Schwartzs immediate priority will be filling out his defensive staff. Marrone said four Bills defensive assistants are expected to join Pettine in Cleveland. The group includes linebackers coach Jim ONeil, who is expected to take over as Browns defensive co-ordinator, and defensive line coach Anthony Weaver. Marrone also expected to lose defensive quality control coach Brian Fleury and newly hired assistant Jeff Hafley. Veteran defensive backs coach Donnie Henderson is staying in Buffalo. Schwartzs defensive approach is rooted in a 4-3 system with some similarities to Pettines philosophy particularly when it comes to generating pressure off the edges. Schwartz intends to spend the next few months adapting his defence to the strengths of his personnel. "Theres going to be some carry-over. Theres going to be some things that well wind up changing because we think its in our best long-term benefit," Schwartz said. "Were not going to be so complicated that they cant pick things up. Whatever we keep, whatever we decide to change, there will be a reason behind it." ' ' '
